Every day, there seems to be a new video that goes viral of a white person calling the cops on a black person for just living their life. In response to this seemingly recent but actually just recently recorded phenomenon, MSNBC’s Joy Reid and Chris Hayes hosted a town hall event to discuss racial bias in America. They did this on the same day that Starbucks closed their doors for sensitivity training after the arrest of two African American men in Philadelphia. Some people are arguing that networks are in danger of making racism mainstream (or already are) in the wake of the Roseanne incident, but with this broadcast, is MSNBC proving that anti-racism can also be mainstream? Watch their discussion with Valerie Jarret, Rev. Al Sharpton, Sherrilyn Ifill and more, and let us know what you think.

Do you think a broadcast like this will spur progress? Do you think it gave voice to the depth of the issue? How do we move forward from this day of “racial reckoning” and conversation to take action? Let us know down below!
